The Lesser of Two Evils
Remember: It's the most important election of your lifetime, like every other election
“I don’t think I’m going to vote this time. I refuse to pick the lesser of two evils.”
“Oh, come on. People say that every election, and it’s not that bad.”
“It’s actually much worse. It’s like the candidates are trying to out-evil each other.”
“Now you’re just being dramatic.”
“They both are threatening to lock the other one up in jail when they win.”
“That’s just typical hyperbolic partisan rhetoric. They don’t really mean it.”
“What about the one candidate who wants to ban free speech?”
“He just wants to ban free speech he doesn’t like. I don’t like free speech I don’t like, either!”
“And what about the other candidate that wants to tax happiness and laughter?”
“Well, laughter can get annoying sometimes. Besides, the taxes will go to something good for society.”
“He said the taxes will go directly into his overseas bank account.”
“Maybe he needs the money. It costs a lot to run a presidential campaign these days.”
“What about when the one candidate said he supported the death penalty for spam-texters?”
“… I actually support that.”
“Yeah, now that I think about it. That does sound sensible.”
“But the other candidate says the spammers should be tortured before being torn apart by wild dogs.”
“Is it too late to get to the polling station?”
For this week, A Presidents Day Carol is FREE on Kindle. Read it while you’re waiting in line to vote, or while you’re waiting for mail-in votes to finally be counted in New Mexico or wherever seventeen days from now and we’re still wondering who won. You can choose your own ending in the book, so everyone wins (unlike in this election)! And please, consider leaving an Amazon review after reading. I’d really appreciate it!
